If doubt can hinder God from doing miracles in a person’s life, imagine what faith can do. With faith, all things are possible (Mark 9:23). Our faith is our yes to God’s promises. Our faith is the welcome mat that lies at the door of our hearts. Our faith is our invitation to God for Him to do what He wants to do in us, for us, and through us. This is why it is impossible to...
“Now He could do no mighty work there, except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them. And He marveled because of their unbelief,”
(Mark 6:5-6).
In Mark chapter 6, we find Jesus returning to His hometown ready to minister to the people. However, it is pretty clear in the text that the majority of the people in Nazareth did not desire being ministered to by Jesus. They were astonished at His wisdom and couldn’t deny the mighty works performed by His hands yet were offended at His claim of being the Son of God and doubted Him (Mark 6:2-3).
Because of their unbelief, Jesus was refrained from doing miracles in their lives (Mark 6:5-6). Think about it. The son of God, the creator of all things, the one who flung the stars into the sky and holds everything that exist together by His Word. This all powerful majestic God can be refrained from doing what He wants to do in a person’s life by their unbelief. Wow!
God’s will to heal all is made evident in the life and ministry of Jesus throughout the gospels (Acts 10:38). We know that Jesus was and is the expressed image of His father (Colossians 1:15). We know Jesus came to seek out and save all who are lost (Luke 19:10). We know Jesus came to bring abundant and eternal life to every human being (John 10:10). Jesus’ ministry was fueled by His heart of love and compassion for a hurting humanity. He healed all who came to Him in faith desiring to be made whole. There is not one person in scripture who sought after Jesus and left His presence empty handed. He loves all of us and desires for us to live a healthy and blessed life.
This is why it is impossible to please God without faith (Hebrews 11:6). Because at the end of the day, He is a loving father who desires all of His children to have the best in life. Believe God’s love for you! Believe and embrace God’s beautiful plan for your life. Live a life of consistent faith in God and you will experience a life filled with the goodness!
